Built in 1910, this gracious home was lovingly restored, and is now ready for you to enjoy. Quiet and secluded, this home combines the elegant character and charm of a bygone era with all of today's conveniences. Located in the historic Nye Beach neighborhood of Newport, Cornelius House is just steps away from all that Nye Beach has to offer.
	The main floor features a fully stocked kitchen with quartz countertops and double oven, eating bar, dining area, and doors out to the spacious deck; comfortable living room with a view out to sea; cozy media room with 50" plasma TV, state of the art sound system and gas fireplace; large bedroom with King-size bed; and a full bathroom.
Upstairs is the master bedroom with Queen-size bed, full bath, and window seat looking out over Nye Creek to the city park; second bedroom with Queen-size bed and window seat looking into the treetops; sitting area with window seat and a view of the ocean; half bath.
	The daylight basement features a large sitting room with gas fireplace, six foot slate top pool table, teak card table and electronic piano, plus a full bath and laundry closet. From this inviting room, there is easy access to the round hottub in its protected and private gazebo, and deck area with bench and deck chairs. You're going to love it!
During the renovation of Cornelius House, updates included installing all new plumbing, all new electric wiring, and a continuous on-demand hot water heater. Double-paned windows, all new insulation, and a gas forced air heating system make this a wonderfully quiet and comfortable 98-year-old home. A whole house structured wiring network and wireless internet provide the latest technology to keep you connected. Great care was taken to retain the original beauty of the woodwork throughout this grand house. Look for the original copper clad light fixtures in the living room and main floor bedroom.

You'll love our location! Two minute walk to the heart of Nye Beach and the best ever chocolate chip cookies at Café Stephanie. Two minutes to the Nye Beach Market, with its truly amazing variety of tasty snacks -try the organic licorice sticks. Three minute walk to put your toes in the sand. There are two places to access the beach near Cornelius House: - The Nye Beach Turnaround is the closest - just 3 blocks away, with picnic tables, a place to wash the sand off your feet and public restrooms. - The second is a few blocks further south, at Olive and Coast streets. This beach access has a long winding paved path down a bluff to the beach, some cool sculptures, public restrooms and a memorial to those lost at sea. You won't have to walk more than 10 minutes to any of over a dozen great eateries - from the newer Nana's Irish Kitchen & Pub to the well established and homey Chowder Bowl, fresh baked breads and pastries at Panini Bakery, fabulous dinners at April's.... Winter Season: (all dates not listed above):
$225 / night, $1575 / week () (2 night minimum stay)
In addition to rent, all guests pay 9.5% Newport city tax, 1% Oregon hotel tax, a cleaning fee of $80, and a refundable $300 deposit.
